The FSLAS exists to provide a meeting place for amateur astronomers of all ages and abilities in the Furness and South Lakes area of Cumbria, England.

Our charter says that we will:

• Promote astronomy in the local community
• Provide education in astronomy for groups, schools, and the general public.
• Offer help, advice, and support to enthusiasts on all manner of related subjects.

Observation Meeting 23rd February 2026

The society's next observing evening with Cumbria Wildlife Trust will now take place on the 23rd February 2026, 7pm at Roanhead, weather permittng. In the case of a postponment alternative dates are: 24th, 25th or 26th February 2026. Full details can be found on the society's Programme page.
